07/03/09 - Waterloo 2 Burtonwood Alb Res 1 POSTPONED AFTER 60 MINS We should have been a few more infront and coasting to an easy win even with the bare 11 that turned up. But then Lee Moss head-butted the floor and an ambulance had to be called. Lee is fine now although we were a bit worried as he wasn't moving much. Apparently he'd fallen asleep though waiting for the ambulace to show up. We had taken the lead through a cracking Garath Coles volley and a nice finish from Ian Hamling. Special thanks to Bellfield for playing, hopefully he'll have a few more run outs this season. I expect an easy win when we replay this fixture.
28/02/09 - Waterloo 0 Moore Utd Res 1 Our league run has finally come to an end. We created the better chances but couldn't finish. Close game in which we deserved a point at least.14/02/09 - Waterloo 3 Burtonwood Alb Res 0 One of our best performances to date. Everyone played well, we passed the ball and looked strong in every position. G Coles had a blinder scoring the first and setting up the second. S Neild stepped in as keeper and make some great saves. We are only a few points away from a promotion place now so wee need to keep our run going. Cup game next week so we may rest players.
07/02/09 - Waterloo 0 Rainhill Town 3rd 1 Shock defeat and the end of our run. Although the ref gave them the game with a dubious yellow card on Mike and then from the free kick a deflected goal. We were on top for most of the game but couldn't put the ball away. The pitch didn't help but was bad for both teams. On a positive we got to try out 2 new players who both looked promising. Special mention to Ste's tackle as soon as he came on which sent a shudder through the crowd! Although we lost we are still on a run in the league so we need to keep that going next week.
31/01/09 - Waterloo 4 Culcheth S.C Res 2. Another 3 points on a terrible pitch. Should have been a lot more though and they did well to come back at us near the end.
17/01/09 - Waterloo 1 Moorfield 0 Another 3 points but a poor performace overall. Our Keeper deserved the man of the match with a great penalty save. Our new signing had a solid game also. Currently 6th in the table with a possiblity of moving up a couple of places if we win our games in hand. We have Avon next week though so gonna be tough.
Injury blow + New signing - Ste Jones has broken his leg slipping on the Ice. See multimedia for pic just before his fall. We wish him a speedy recovery. A new player Mike Hebenton will be joining us next week to help strengthen our squad. Mike can play in the middle or in defence.
0th Dec Waterloo 5 Rainhill Town 3rd 2 Latest 11/12/08 - Going to have a Christmas drink after our last game on the 20th. Plan is to have a few in the Waterloo and watch the 5.30 game then move on later. I'll have a bit of club money to get players/supporters pints but only if they are out all night!
4 on the bounce now for the mighty Waterloo. Another early brace from Edwards and a great man of the match performance from Stevens gave us another easy win. Holmes also played his first full game with a solid display at full back.

Another great result making it 3 on the bounce now. Hat-trick from man of the match Edwards and goals from Phoenix and McMahon helped us cruise to an easy win in the fog. Their only goal was a lucky miss kicked cross that lobbed Bellfield as McMahon stood frozen to the spot . We were able to use our full squad with good performances from Moss, Holmes and Mcdonnell. O'Malley did all the hard work in midfield and our defence held strong again for another 3 points.
This was a good hard fought team performance giving us our first clean sheet this season. We went ahead from a bit of a scramble in the box with Phoenix steering the ball home. Hamling should have finished it off but missed a 2 yard header which he tried to place in with his nose after a great cross from Neild. Phoenix then blazed over from 10 yards after a nice pass from man of the match Newbolt but our defence held strong for a needed 3 points.
Went 2 nil down after some mistakes at the back but then came back starting with a bullet header from Macleod from a nice corner from Cox. 5 mins later we were level from another corner from Cox this time Phoenix on the score sheet. McMahon then pulled off 2 saves for the camera which kept us in it. Edwards then beat 3 on the wing and tucked it away for the winner. Hopefully this is the start of a good run for the Wanderers.
Some great performances in the pub due to Orford unable to get a team. Special mention to Si Neild for buying me a few pints.
18th Oct Culcheth 7 Waterloo 3
Culcheth had some pace up front and punished us. Hamling and Eddie should have put a few more chances away which would have made it a close game. Still major problems at the back for us.

11th Oct Waterloo 1 - Avon Athletic 8
Although we didn't play that bad we were taken to school by a very good Avon side.
27th Sep Waterloo 2 - Rainhill Res 2
At last a point! Should have been 3 though again. Good team performance.
20Sep.Moorefield 3rd 2..Waterloo 1 This was a game to forget. The Chuckle Brothers made a rare appearance with Gaz Chuckle doing the air kick joke near the end and gifting them a goal. The 12 year old ref was a joke as well. One of their goals wasn't over the line and Dave Chuckle missed a pen.
13th Sep Waterloo 2 - Farnworth Griffin 5
Morale at an all time low after throwing away a 2 nil lead. This should have been an easy 3 pointer but defensive mistakes cost us. 3 points is a must against Moorefield or the manager could be on his way!
6th Sep Waterloo 1 - Grange SC Res 4
Good show of players with 24 turning up available to play. Unfortunately Grange's 1st team did not have a game so the team was full of div 1 players. We held our own with some good saves from Jack although they had most of the play and were finding space down the flanks. We went in at half time 2-1 down. Ged got our goal with a nice finish from a pass from Dave Mc. Second half started badly with them scoring from a great move with a chip over our keeper. Heads went then went down. Hamling came off with a massive hand and then Ged got sent off from leading with a not so sly elbow and the game was over. Everyone who didn't get a game I'll make sure gets a run out next week.

Manager hospitalised with shock after Gaz Coles pays his signing on fee!
Possibility of 5 new signings this year. They include a decent gobby keeper and a tricky winger with the wildest left foot known to man. Should give us a stronger squad.
Darnell turned up at training this week. His luminous white body was a constant reminder of the dreadful summer we've been having.
